Dave has been touring this year, conducting masterclasses on the life and music of Bill Evans. He has also been hosting presentations of “Time Remembered”, Bruce Spiegel’s acclaimed documentary about jazz pianist Bill Evans. Recent presentations have included Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California, Rutgers University, The California Jazz Conservatory in Berkeley, and The Bop Stop in Cleveland.
Dave was the 2019 Bittle Jazz Artist in Residence at the 2019 University of Akron Jazz Festival. He hosting a showing of “Time Remembered” at Guzetta Recital Hall and performed a concert with trio, as well as a concert with the U of A big band at E J Thomas Performing Arts Hall, featuring the music of Bill Evans. Dave then performed at Pianoforte of Chicago on April 14, hosting a showing of “Time Remembered” followed by a concert of Bill’s music with bassist Jeff Slater and drummer Jon Deitemyer. See Here.
Dave then traveled to California in September to teach a masterclass on the life and music of Bill Evans at California Jazz Conservatory in Berkeley. (See here), and then hosted a showing of “Time Remembered” at Piedmont Piano Company in Oakland, CA, on Sunday, September 29, followed by a trio concert of Bill’s music with John Wiitala on bass and David Rokeach on drums.
